【Media Coverage】Dr. Foods and Next Meats Featured at FoodNiche Summit in New York
In July 2024, Japanese food tech companies Dr. Foods and Next Meats were selected as finalists in the "Alternative Proteins – Cultivated Meat" category at the FoodNiche Summit, held at Cornell Tech University in New York.
At the event, they presented their innovative plant-based versions of the world's top three delicacies: vegan foie gras, vegan caviar, and the newly launched vegan truffle butter. Dr. Foods, in particular, received praise for its vegan foie gras, which is developed using Japan’s traditional fermentation culture known as koji.
Since September 2023, Dr. Foods has sold approximately 160,000 servings of vegan foie gras across 28 hotels in Japan, and is now intensifying its global expansion, with tastings already conducted in the US, Singapore, the Netherlands, Thailand, and the UAE.
The two Tokyo-based companies are now seeking distribution partners in the United States to bring their ethical and sustainable gourmet offerings to high-end B2B food markets.
Dr. Foods is listed on the US OTCQB market under the ticker “DRFS”, while Next Meats is listed as “NXMH”, already offering a diverse range of plant-based products in the US and Canada.
